Kingdom of Love   Last night I dreamed I took a walk and Jesus was there with me

Kingdom of Love

Last night I dreamed I took a walk
and Jesus was there with me.
As He held my hand, we sang many songs
 of praise and victory.

He led me to the foot of a mountain,
and I asked, "Why are we here?"
Never had I seen such a height.
It made me tremble with fear.

With concern in His eyes, He turned to me,
and pointed to the sky above.
"Will you climb this mountain of testing,
to enter My kingdom of love?"

My heart danced and skipped a beat.
His kingdom I did not know.
"Show me the way, and I'll follow.
Oh, yes, my Lord, I'll go!"
>
With a smile on His face He took my hand,
and showed me the path to take.
But, then He turned, as if to leave,
and my heart began to break.

"My Lord, I thought You'd lead the way
on the path today You've shown.
How can I climb this mountain here,
 if I must climb alone?"

He looked at me with so much love,
 my heart began to melt.
"I assure you child, I'll never be
 beyond your call for help."

"In times of trouble, I'll be near
 although you may not see.
Signs and wonders I will show you
If you only have faith in Me."

My journey lasted for weeks on end.
How many, I could not tell.
My hands were sore, and my knees bruised
from times I stumbled and fell.

There were enemies too, along the way,
who tried to confuse and distract.
At times I felt like giving up
 and turning to go back.

But encouragement came along the way,
from a lesson my Savior taught.
He said, 'No matter how hard life becomes,
through My blood, victory's already bought."

As I made my way up to the top,
 my body was badly worn.
 I had reached my destination,
with my clothes all tattered and torn.

 Suddenly, Jesus reappeared to me
and lifted me to my feet.
He had to hold me in His arms,
because I was so weak.

As He gently kissed my tears away,
He said, "Many crowns you've won."
 I felt my strength returning
then He said, "My child, well done."

Then I heard a trumpet blast
and turned my head to see.
As an angel cried out, "A child has come home!"
The saints came to welcome me.

In that one quick moment, I awoke.
I found myself lying in bed.
with thoughts of the dream I just had.
Its memories still in my head.

 Lying there in the darkness,
I wished the vision would return.
I remembered the path He'd shown me,
 and lessons I had learned.

 This mountain that we climb
are struggles we face day by day.
Have faith and you will reach the top
as our Lord shows us the way.

Though our course may not be easy,
we must reach for the skies above.
He promised He'd never leave us
as we climb to His kingdom of love.
