Jesus Died for You
Did you know that Jesus died for you?
Did you know that He would have done
the same if you were the only person
on earth?
Well, He did die just for you!
Did He really want to?
Yes and No
He knew that His death was required
for the payment for sin. But He was
also human. And, of course, He didn't
want the pain and horror of being
crucified. In Fact, He even asked His Father
(God) to make it possible for Him not to have
to go through it.
Crucifixtion was a
horrible and painful death. Death was
actually caused by suffocation since the
victim eventually couldn't pull himself
up on his nailed feet to gasp for air.
But, you know what? It was the only
way for man and God to be reconciled.
Jesus knew this. And He loves each and
every one of us so much, that He was
willing to go through this painful
and horrible death.
After He died, He was buried in a
tomb that was offered for His body
by a friend. Since it was so close
to the Sabbath when He died, His
body could not be properly prepared.
His friends and loved ones decided
that they would have to do the body
preparations after the Sabbath was over.
On Sunday morning, when the Sabbath
was over, the women, taking spices and
oils to prepare His body, went to the tomb.
Imagine their surprise when they discovered
that His body wasn't there! At first, it was
thought that His body had been stolen. But
shortly afterwards, He was seen by His
friends. And even after that, He was
seen by over 500 people. It would have
been physically impossible for Him to have
rolled away the stone that was covering
the doorway of the tomb. Besides that,
the tomb was being guarded by Roman
soldiers, who would have been executed
for dereliction of duty if they had fallen
asleep. These men were never punished.
The only conclusion that can be drawn from this
is that Jesus Christ actually rose from the dead!
After spending about six more weeks on earth
Jesus ascended to His Father. He now lives
in Heaven and intercedes with God on our
behalf.
Belief in Jesus Christ is the only way to
get to Heaven.
God the Father doesn't want anyone
to go to Hell. Hell was created for
the fallen angels. However, Hell
is a very real place. And the only way
a person gets there is by refusing the gift
of God's son, Jesus Christ.
God loves you. And He is a jealous God. He will
share you with nothing else. No other
gods. Not football, or TV, or Buddha
or anything that would come before
him in your life. If you want to
get to Heaven to live eternally with Him, the only
way is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ.
All you have to do is ask God to forgive your sin.
What is sin? It's all the bad stuff that we do in our lives
every day. If you ask God to forgive you, and
ask Jesus to come and live in your heart, it will be done.
You must believe that Jesus is God's son and that He died
for your sins. Also that He rose from the dead, and
is in Heaven now, interceding for you.
If you do all this, will you stop sinning right away?
No! None of us is perfect. The only perfect being
that ever lived was Jesus. However, you will
hear Him letting you know when you sin. And again,
you ask for forgiveness, and don't do that sin anymore.
King David was a man that the Bible says "was after
God's own heart". But he kept messing up. He
also kept going back to God and asking for
forgiveness.
Soon, Jesus will be returning to the earth
to gather His children to be with him.
